GovanBrownSzeto was the winning bidder to provide tenant improvement renovation to this UBC library facility. Working with Ron Allen Architects the newly renovated premises shall be completed in early 2012.

GBS Welcomes Denis Brown, Senior Construction Manager! Denis will head up a new sector within GBS – Constructors. This new sector will provide construction management and general contracting to new buildings, renovations and development. Denis is a seasoned professional drawing from his 40+ years of experience with former companies such as Ledingham and Dominion Construction. His recent major accomplishment was the successful completion of the Starlight Casino development for Gateway Casinos.

The interior design is completed by Cornelia Lepage of GBS; the scope includes new millwork, flooring, wall finishes, re-designed washrooms and boardroom facility. The renovated space will have new furnishings and upgraded premium audio visual equipment.

Baccarat Casino VIP Renovation - Edmonton

Hollyburn Christian Fellowship Church Demo

The scope of work includes proper removal and disposal of rubbish and site remediation. Dress for Success Corporate Challenge, Vancouver

GovanBrownSzeto was pleased to participate in this year’s DFS Corporate Challenge. Over 350 pieces of clothing were collected and donated due to the generous support of friends, colleagues and peers. The event was wrapped up on the October 7th at the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel with a “best outfit” and runway competition (GBS’ Cornelia Lepage was modeling outfits). Dress for Success is a national organization that supports women who are economically disadvantaged by providing professional attire, a support network and career development tools to aid them in their work and life.

The project included extensive mechanical & electrical equipment requirements that were even challenging to base building requirements. GovanBrownSzeto was able to work with a large team of client project managers, consultants and engineers to ensure that the required infrastructure of mechanical, electrical & structural work was complete on time and to the satisfaction of the client & building landlord.

GovanBrownSzeto Opens Victoria Office!

GovanBrownSzeto now has a Victoria, BC office serving the south Vancouver Island. After working on several projects in Victoria in the past few years GovanBrownSzeto has made a commitment to open an office in the capitol. Kevin Kinakin will be the Victoria office lead and will represent GovanBrownSzeto in membership at the BOMA Victoria Chapter and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.

Once again GovanBrownSzeto is proud of our continued relationship with the Kirin Restaurant Group as we have been retained by the Kirin to provide Design+Build services for the renovation to their Downtown location. The project will incorporate the base building expansion and creation of new storefronts on Alberni and Bute Street. The restaurant will be closed from mid-October to end of January 2010 as we incorporate a new design to the Kirin's original location.

RBC - Granville & Hastings, Vancouver

GovanBrownSzeto was selected to provide Design+Build services to this bank branch refresh project. This heritage building with period and ornate interiors was a challenge both in design and to construction manage; allowing full business operation during normal hours. Some of the original terrazzo floor will be re-exposed and newly refinished to its original form. The refresh transformation will be completed in late October, 2008.

RBC - Broadway & Cambie, Vancouver

Schanks Sports Grill

GovanBrownSzeto is pleased to be selected as the key design+build contractor on this flagship project and are already working on future projects for Schanks.
