GovanBrownSzeto and LDA Design have been selected by Gateway Casinos & Entertainment Inc. to provide design and construction management services in the renovation of the VIP gaming area in the Baccarat and Palace Casinos in Edmonton, Alberta.

GovanBrownSzeto Opens Victoria Office!

GovanBrownSzeto now has a Victoria, BC office serving the south Vancouver Island. After working on several projects in Victoria in the past few years GovanBrownSzeto has made a commitment to open an office in the capitol. Kevin Kinakin will be the Victoria office lead and will represent GovanBrownSzeto in membership at the BOMA Victoria Chapter and the Victoria Chamber of Commerce.

Old Navy Stores – Coquitlam, Richmond, Victoria BC.

GovanBrownSzeto was the successful bidder to provide construction services for store refresh at Old Navy. Working with Gap Inc., the project managers, GovanBrownSzeto will be completing the work during non-store hours, keeping the store fully operational.

Justice Access Centre - Vancouver

GovanBrownSzeto was the successful bidder to provide construction services for the new tenant improvement for the Justice Access Centre offices. Working with BLJC, the project managers, GovanBrownSzeto will be complete the construction by end of February 2010.

RBC Personal Banking - Vancouver

Kirin Restaurant - Downtown Vancouver

Once again GovanBrownSzeto is proud of our continued relationship with the Kirin Restaurant Group as we have been retained by the Kirin to provide Design+Build services for the renovation to their Downtown location. The project will incorporate the base building expansion and creation of new storefronts on Alberni and Bute Street. The restaurant will be closed from mid-October to end of January 2010 as we incorporate a new design to the Kirin's original location.

Gateway Casinos - Starlight & Grand Villa Private Salons

GovanBrownSzeto is proud to be the recipient of a Silver IDI Hospitality Award for the Shang Noodle House restaurant as well as the Bronze IDI Hospitality Award for the Kirin Restaurant, both located at the Starlight Casino in New Westminster. The presentation was made at the recent Interior Designers Institute of British Columbia 2008 Awards of Excellence.

In addition to interior design services, GovanBrownSzeto has been retained to complete preliminary multimedia design with regards to the client's brand image.

Regency Residence - Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia

A Design and Project Management collaborative with LDA Design (Louis de Araujo), GovanBrownSzeto will project manage the design process of the main floor of this luxury condominium located in the capital city of Mongolia. The main floor design will consist of amenities such as a grocery store, various retail, concierge service, and a full service restaurant with lounge.

RBC - Granville & Hastings, Vancouver

GovanBrownSzeto was selected to provide Design+Build services to this bank branch refresh project. This heritage building with period and ornate interiors was a challenge both in design and to construction manage; allowing full business operation during normal hours. Some of the original terrazzo floor will be re-exposed and newly refinished to its original form. The refresh transformation will be completed in late October, 2008.

RBC - Broadway & Cambie, Vancouver

Kirin Restaurant, Richmond

The Kirin Restaurant in Richmond will be undergoing extensive renovations in March 2008 and GovanBrownSzeto has been selected as the Design+Build service provider. The Richmond location completed in 1998 will undergo its first renovation since its opening and will be renewed to service their many loyal clients for years to come.

Schanks Sports Grill

With the British Columbia economy at a boom, Calgary-based Schanks Sports Grill knew the timing was right for their expansion into BC's international hub: Vancouver. Largely popular in Alberta for their 20,000+ square foot sports bar and recreation "experiences", Schanks looks to fill the gap in the Vancouver market with their illustrious establishment at the Starlight Casino. GovanBrownSzeto is pleased to be selected as the key design+build contractor on this flagship project and are already working on future projects for Schanks.

Shang Noodle House

Our newly created multimedia department took on this challenge.
